Aida Salili

Risk Analyst

Introducing Aida—an individual whose journey seamlessly bridges astrophysics, humanitarian advocacy, and strategic analysis.

As a Risk Analyst at the Centre, Aida contributes across the Advisory and Training teams, leading sovereign-level risk diagnostics and providing technical input into the design and delivery of government training programs. Her work supports the development of disaster risk financing strategies and the review of financial instruments, drawing on deep expertise in climate change, Islamic finance, and Takaful insurance.

Aida studied astrophysics at Queen Mary University of London, where her research used simulations to investigate small-scale anomalies in the Lambda-Cold Dark Matter model—bringing precision and rigour to her analytical foundation.

Before joining the Centre, she worked in disaster response, offering vital support to Middle Eastern refugees, championing women’s rights, and assisting survivors of domestic abuse navigating the UK system.

Outside of work, Aida plays an active role in North London’s football community—always striving to “Bend it like Beckham”.
