Amanda Glassman

Executive Advisor to the President at the Inter-American Development Bank

Ms. Glassman has more than 25 years of experience working and publishing on health, social protection, evidence, and data issues in low- and middle-income countries, with emphasis in Latin America and the Caribbean.  Prior to her current role, Ms. Glassman was Executive Vice President and Senior Fellow of the Center for Global Development (CGD), a think tank in Washington, D.C., as well as CEO of CGD Europe based in London, UK. Prior to CGD, Amanda was Principal Technical Lead-Social Protection and Health in the IDB’s Social Sector, where she led policy dialogue and operations with member countries.  Previous positions since entering the Bank in 1997 as a Junior Professional include Senior Social Development Specialist in Office of Evaluation and Oversight (2005-2006) and Social Development Specialist in the previous Regional Operations 3 Department (1998-2005).  From 2006-2008, while on leave from the IDB, Amanda worked as a Fellow and Deputy Director for the Global Health Financing Initiative at the Brookings Institution, and worked as a PRB Fellow at the US Agency for International Development as well as for Harvard University.  

Amanda Glassman holds a Master of Science from the Harvard University School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University.
