Strategy Lead

Marta is the Strategy Lead at the Centre for Disaster Protection, where she is responsible for the design and execution of strategic initiatives that support the organisation’s long-term objectives. She played a central role in developing the Centre’s recent five-year strategy, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and the Board to shape its direction. Marta collaborates across teams to embed strategic thinking throughout the organisation, ensuring alignment between vision and delivery, and positioning the Centre for sustained impact in disaster risk management.

Marta brings over 15 years of experience across the corporate, public, and international development sectors. Prior to joining the Centre, she served as Head of Global Operations at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change during a period of significant expansion, as the Institute grew its operations to more than 30 countries. Before that, she worked across different workstreams, providing technical expertise on programme design and delivery, and contributed to several research initiatives across the Institute.

Marta holds an MSc in International Relations of the European Union from Loughborough University and a BA in Political Science from the University of Santiago de Compostela.
