Colin Bruce

Dr. Colin Bruce is Special Envoy for Humanitarian and Development Affairs at the International Committee of the Red Cross. Before this Colin spent 30 years at the World Bank in various technical and managerial roles such as Director for Strategy and Operations in the Africa Region and Senior Adviser in the Office of the President. During his Bank tenure he contributed to the global response to the food, fuel and financial crisis that began in 2008.

He was also the Bank’s designated principal on the global humanitarian interagency committee comprised of heads of agencies and NGOs. During 2017-18, he led a team that further developed the Bank’s approach to global crisis risks.
