Associate Director - Strategic Partnerships & Communications

Sophie Evans is Associate Director for Strategic Partnerships and Communications at the Centre for Disaster Protection. She leads the Centre’s efforts to strengthen relationships with governments, multilaterals, and philanthropic partners, and oversees its communications strategy. Previously, she led the Centre’s advisory work, supporting countries to design and implement disaster risk financing solutions. Sophie has over a decade of experience in disaster risk and climate finance, working across governments, philanthropies, and the private sector.

She is currently studying for an Executive MBA at the University of Oxford and holds an MA in Intelligence and International Security from King’s College London and a BSc in International Relations and Politics from Oxford Brookes University. Sophie completed her legal studies in 2017.
