Veronika Bertram
Veronika is Lead Risk Finance Adviser at the Centre for Disaster Protection, where she supports governments in strengthening financial resilience to climate and disaster risks. She is passionate about helping countries navigate complex challenges by bringing together evidence, policy and finance.
Drawing on more than 20 years of experience across international policy, banking and research, Veronika works with governments, multilateral development banks and international partners to develop disaster risk finance strategies, strengthen financial decision-making and build institutional capacity. She has worked with more than 20 countries and contributes to international policy, research and collective learning on climate and disaster risk finance.
Alongside her PhD in economics, Veronika is deepening her practice in awareness-based systems transformation through MIT's u-lab and TheDive Transform. She is particularly curious about how awareness-based and embodied approaches can strengthen the capacities of groups, teams and institutions to navigate complex societal transitions.
Veronika lives in Linz, Austria, and works remotely with the Centre. A good day for her begins with hand-ground coffee and ends with swing dancing.
