Theodore Talbot

Chief Economist & Associate Director – Sustainable Finance

Theo Talbot is the Chief Economist and Assistant Director for Sustainable Finance at the Centre for Disaster Protection. Previously, he was a senior economist and innovative finance lead with the World Bank. Before the World Bank, Theo held senior roles at the Center for Global Development (CDG), a think-and-do tank with offices in Washington, DC and London. He helped build out CGD’s sustainable finance work, including leading the Payouts for Perils working group on risk finance for disaster and emergency response.

Theo joined CGD from experiences working in the Pacific as an ODI Fellow and in the Ministry of Planning & Investment in Vietnam.

Theo grew up in India and Ethiopia and currently calls Copenhagen home, where he lives with his partner, Ida, and daughter, Ingrid. He has a Doctorate in Economics.
