
Chris Kiggell
Chris joined the Centre in January 2022 and is responsible for developing policy, thought-leadership approaches and strategic engagement on a range of priority areas, including on Disaster Risk Finance and Climate Change, and on addressing the Protection Gap ahead of crises.
Chris has a background in policy and strategic communications, with a focus on conflict and fragility and particularly on disaster and risk management. He joins the Centre from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), where he worked most recently in the Disaster Risk Finance (DRF) team on reforms to the crisis finance architecture and wider policy engagement. Prior to that he spent four+ years with FCDO’s humanitarian and protracted crisis policy team, where he led on developing and driving the UK Government's international policy approach to forced displacement and protracted refugee crises; and on humanitarian links into the DRF agenda, with a particular focus on Anticipatory Action.
His previous role was in FCDO’s media and communications division, where as head of the conflict desk he led on work around FCAS and responses to a number of crises and new conflicts globally.
