Kate Whitmore
Born in Montreal, Canada, Kate studied international development at McGill University, where she minored in political science and specialized in economic development. She holds a second undergraduate degree in social work from Carleton University, during which time she gained hands-on experience improving access to health services for vulnerable communities.
Kate moved to London to pursue a Master of Science in the Control of Infectious Diseases from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. Her graduate dissertation, completed in collaboration with the International Federation of the Red Cross, employed risk communication and community engagement to examine the epidemiological relationship between armed conflict and infection during the 2018 Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Kate's professional background lies in clinical research, in particular her role coordinating a clinical trial investigating the use of an artificial intelligence software to improve treatment outcomes for patients with major depressive disorder.
When she is not in the office, you can often find Kate in the mountains - either snowboarding or hiking with her two Olde English Bulldogs, Link and Lulu.
